While Kobe is definitely the GOAT on the basketball court he showed the ability shift his life on a dime during controversy and adversity. Nobody is perfect and neither is Kobe. He had his own daemons to work through in his personal life.
What I admired about him was his ability to admit his mistakes and use that as fuel to propel his personal life. After his scandal early in his career his focus on starting a family and being 100% part of their lives was fanatical. His family was the most important thing in his life. The support for his girls and women’s sports was fueled by his mistakes of the past. He shifted his personal life in a dime just like he crossed over the basketball on a shift fake on the court. He learned quickly. Many people never make the shift.
I believe the mistakes of his past fueled his future whether it be his basketball career, His teammates careers, his daughters career, his academy award winning short videos, his books. He was a fanatically positive and good person. It bothers me still that some people focus on one mistake and don’t look at what the realization of that mistake has propelled.
RIP Kobe, Gianna and all those who lost their lives.
