Maya Angelou once said to Oprah Winfrey in an interview "Your legacy is every life you have touched".
Kobe Bryant, without a shadow of a doubt, was a remarkable basketball player. He led the LA Lakers to 5 NBA Championships and was voted the Most Valuable Player 2 years consecutively. I have always admired his passion ad focus as an athlete. However, in the past recent years, Kobe became so much more off the court. The work Kobe has done as a Philanthropist has inspired me the most.
Kobe Bryant developed and supported many organizations. He was the official ambassador for the "After-School All Stars" which is a national childrens charity that provides after school programs to 72,000 inner city kids. He also developed the "Kobe and Vanessa Bryant Family Foundation" to encourage youth globally to stay active through sports. He also, over 20 years, made appearances over 100 times for "Make A Wish Foundation". These are just a few examples of how Kobe's work has inspired me over the last few years. And to me, more than anything, will be his lasting legacy.
Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna and 7 other people died in the helicopter crash that occured on January 26,2020. This tragedy is a reminder to live each day with purpose and gratitude as Kobe did himself.
